Art by MiRan DT

Our Art by Mi Ran DT family has grown!  We've got new members for all of our teams - Challenge, Showcase, and Facebook (my team:). The work that all of these ladies do is AMAZING to say the least.  I've admired so many of them for a long time, and am excited to work with them now!  Plus - once of my best friends is on the team now too...how fun is that?!?

If you head on over to the Art by MiRan Blog you can see who has joined us and check out their work!  The current DT members have also all created a card to help celebrate the occasion!  For my card (actually, I made two...long story...and this was the one my family voted I use for this happy day) I used this lovely image called Victoria.  Gorgeous, isn't she?  I went with a bit of a darker look than usual but I felt it went so well with her.  What do you think?

The Copics I used are: hair - E71, E77 & E79; dress - YR18, YR24, E08, E19, E40, E42, E43, B000, BG18 & BG72; flowers - YR24, YR31 & Y26; feathers - YG45, YG67, BG57 & BG72.

For the card I used Bazzill cardstock, paper from Graphic 45 (Olde Curiosity Shoppe), lace, flowers and Joy Crafts! die.  Wasn't sure about the finished product when I first made her, but my family really loved it, and I have to say I love it now too!  If you get a chance, head on over to the Art by Mi Ran blog to see everyone's cards, and to give some love...xx.

Have a good one!

Handmade Flowers - Reminder Post

Hi everyone!  Happy Monday:)  Just popping in to remind you that we have a fun challenge going on over on the Scrapbook Stamp Society Blog.  The challenge is Anything Goes + Optional Handmade Flowers.  I had so much fun making my own flowers last week I decided to give it a go again using this beautiful image which you can find here in the Sherri Baldy Etsy Shop.  I hope you like her!

The Copics I used are: hair - E31, E33, E35 & E37; dress - B12, B21, B24, B236, V06, V09, V12, V15 & Star Dust Stickles.

For the card I used Bazzill cardstock & dot paper, and paper/sticker from Websters Pages (Dream in Color).  I used dies from Memory Box, LaLa Land Crafts and Joy! Crafts, and ribbon.  For each the flowers I used circle punches (2 sizes), and buttons.  If you would like, I can take pictures of the steps to create them.  Just leave me a comment letting me know and I will do that.  I hope you will head on over to the Scrapbook Stamp Society blog and check out the amazing DT projects, and also play along with our challenge.  You'll have a chance at winning some awesome digis - maybe even this one!

Sent With Love

Hi there everyone! Today I am sharing a card I made for the brand new challenge over on the Chocolate, Coffee & Cards Challenge Blog..  Our sponsor is Inky Impression, and our theme for this challenge is 'Seeing Red'.  I'm using two of their digital stamps - the image is Sent With Love Girl, and for the sentiment I am using All My Love Ticket.  Red is not a color I use often, so this was a challenge for me for sure, but a fun one!

The Copics I used are: hair - E35, E37, YR23 & Y21; pants - B91, B95 & B97; shirt - R00, R01, R02, R22, R24, R27 & R29; box - E33, E35 & E37; heart - R22, R24, R27 & R29.

For the card I used Bazzill cardstock, paper from Echo Park (Home Grown), and LaLa Land dies.  I made the flowers myself.  Lots of red!  More than I normally use, but I am pleased with the result.  We invite you to check out the Chocolate, Coffee & Cards Challenge Blog and play along with our 'Seeing Red' challenge.  While you're there, check out the other awesome work the DT has made to inspire you:)

Two-Scoop Tammy

Good morning everyone!  It's time to kick off a brand new Anything Goes Challenge over on the Arty By Mi Ran Challenge Blog.  I'm joining the amazing DT over there, and would love to share this card I made using Two-Scoop Tammy.  Isn't she sweet?

The Copics I used are: hair - E35, YR23, Y21 & Y32; clothes - G000, BG11, BG13, BG19, RV000, RV23, RV25, E40 & E43; ice cream - E11, E13, E15, Y17, Y21, Y32, RV000, RV02 & RV04.

For the card I used Bazzill cardstock, paper by Fancy Pants Designs (Summer Sun), and dies by LaLa Land Crafts & Spellbinders.  I so wanted to add more to the card - if you've been to my blog you know I love flowers - but anything else was too distracting.  I think in this case, 'less is more'.  I'd love to know your thoughts!  Please hop on over to the Art by Miran Challenge Blog to check out the amazing work by the DT members, and to join the challenge.  You don't have to use an image from Art by MiRan, but there are extra incentives if you do.  Check out the Art by MiRan Etsy Shop to check out her amazing digis!  Thanks for stopping by!

Her name is Oopsie, and she is one of my favorite images from the Karleigh Sue May 2015 releases.  Check out her other amazing digis over in the Karleigh Sue Etsy Shop.  I'd love to know what you think of her:

The Copic I used are: hair - E08, E19, YR14 & YR18; dress - V93, V95, V99, BG18 & BG72; apples - R22, R24 & R27; bag - E13. E15 & E17.

For the card I used Bazzill cardstock, paper from My Mind's Eye (Bohemia), Wild Orchid flowers, and dies from Joy! Scrapbook Stamp Society - Handmade Flowers

Good morning all!  We are kicking off a brand new challenge over on the Scrapbook Stamp Society blog, and our theme is 'Anything Goes + Option Handmade Flowers'.  FUN challenge!!!  I'm pretty new to the 'handmade flowers' thing, so for this card I made the only handmade flowers I know how to make!  I know, not much of a challenge...but for the reminder post next week, I'm going to try something new!  I'd love to see what handmade flowers are your favorite!  For my card I used this sweet image which you can find here.  I'd love to know what you think!

The Copics I used are: skin - E000, E00, E4, E21 & R20; hair - E08, E19, YR14 & YR18; shirt - BG000, BG01, BG05, YG09 & R22; pants - YR23, Y21 & Y32; shows - W0, W3, W5 & W7.

For the card I used Bazzill cardstock, paper by Webster's Pages, dies by Spellbinder & LaLa Land Crafts, and Martha Stewart punch.  The sticker sentiment is by 3 Bugs in a Rug, and reads 'life is either a darling adventure or nothing'.  I love this quote by Helen Keller.

I made the flowers by punching different sized circles in different paper and used scalloped scissors to cut a spiral to the center,  I then rolled (starting from the outside) toward the center, and secured the center bottom with a dab of glue.  Next time I will take pics of the various stages. Super easy, and I like the look:)

Thanks for taking a look, and please be sure to head over to the Scrapbook Stamp Society blog to check out the other amazing DT work and to share your own.  Have a great week!

Blossom Breeze - ABM

Happy Friday peeps!  We have a new Anything Goes Challenge over in the Art by MiRan Facebook Group!  The DT projects this month are A-mazing!  There are so many gorgeous images to choose from in the Art by MiRan Etsy Shop...I can't wait to see which one you use!  For my project I am using this fun image called Blossom Breeze.  She has a 'hippie' look (to me, at least), so I went with a 'Peace' theme for my card.  What do you think?

The Copics I used are: hair - E40, E43, E47 & E49; dress - V000, V01, V06, V12, V15, Y02 & Y06; flowers - RV10, RV14, YR00, YR14, YR18, BG11, BG13 & BG18.

I have really been into shaped cards, so for this, I used my Spellbinder 'Grand Stately Circles' - the second largest (folded in half) for the base to stand the card, and the smallest for the base layer she is on.  I love that the border looks like peace signs!  I have had this paper (and Peace sticker) from LYB for ages, and this was the perfect project!  I also used flowers from Prima and Wild Orchid, leaf die from LaLa Land Crafts, and ribbon.   Super fun, right?

Thanks for taking a look!  We would love to have you join our Art by MiRan Facebook Group and join the fun!  Have a great weekend everyone!

Longing

Hi again!  I have an other project I would love to share with you.  I've made some Facebook DT inspiration for the Ching Chou Kuik Facebook Group, and wanted to share it here as well:)  I went a little out of my comfort zone here, and attempted to make a mixed-media canvas.  Well, I suppose I didn't just attempt it - I actually made it, lol.  I think there are lots of mediums and such that I need to get, but I used what I had, and just had fun with it.  I used the image Longing...I would love to know what you think!

The Copics I used are: hair - E53, E57 & E59; dress - V01, V06, V12, V15, BG11, BG13, BG49, B24 & B26; rose - R56, R59 & R85; moon - Y17, Y21 & Y32.

I primed the canvas with gesso, then used molding paste and some stencils to add texture.  Once that dried, I spritzed it with various colors from Tim Holtz & Tattered Angels.  I then put some pearl mica for shimmer, and added a few flowers (I've had them for ages, not sure where I got them).  I hope you like it!  Please head on over to the Ching Chou Kuik Facebook Group to check out her new releases, see other DT inspiration, and to play along with some challenges.  Have an awesome day!!

Frosted Rose

Good morning peeps!  Hope this week is a good one for you!  We are kicking off a new challenge over on the Craft Your Passion blog today.  The theme is always Anything Goes, and this week we are sponsored by Di's Digi Stamps.  Be sure to take part in the challenge for your chance to win:)

I am really excited to share a card I made using the image Frosted Rose by stamp designer Hannah Lynn.  I recently won some of her images (and bought a bunch more, lol), and this is my first time coloring one.  I love her work!  I'm really pleased with how it came out, and would love your thoughts:)

The Copic I used are: hair - E40, E43, E47 & E49; dress - R01, R02, R08 & R14; flowers - BG11, BG13 & BG18; leaves - YG93, YG97 & G21.

I made the card using Bazzill cardstock, paper & die cuts by Theresa Collins, flowers from Wild Orchid, and Spellbinder dies.  I also used a bit of Wink of Stella (clear) on her wing.  And actually, I colored her twice....the first coloring I did (same colors) looked great until the glitter came out in a big blob on her wing and ruined the image!  We've all been there, right?  I tried to salvage it, but it was too messy, so I re-colored her, and was waaaayyyy more careful the second time.  I've been using that glitter pen for a while - let's hope it's a one-time thing!

When you have a chance, c'mon over to the Craft Your Passion blog and join out latest Anything Goes challenge!  Thanks for stopping by, and have a great day!

June Progressive Challenge - ABM

It's time!  Time for a brand new Progressive Challenge over in the Art by MiRan Facebook Group!  Do you know how this works?  Every month a new image is released that is to be used for the Progressive Challenge.  If you participated in the prior month's challenge, the image is free to you.  Yes, I said free!  How awesome is that?  And the images are all gorgeous!  If you're new to the challenge, you can buy this image at a reduced price, and as long as you participate, the next one is free.  That simple! (You can find more details in the Facebook Group).  Here is the card I made with the new image for June, named 'Bubbles Brea'.

The Copics I used to color up this beauty are: skin - E000, E00, E4, E11 & R20; hair - YR23, Y21, Y32, E33 & E35; dress - R00, R20, R22, R24, B000, BG000, BG11, BG13, E40, E43 & E47.  For the bubbles, I colored them with Y000, RV000 & B0000.  I then covered them with glossy accents, followed by a brushing of Tattered Angels Glam (Chandelier).

The Wild Princess

Happy Thursday everyone!  Today I am sharing a project I made for the Ching Chou Kuik Facebook Group.  I decided to try something other than a card for this.  It originally started as an altered mixed-media canvas (which I have never made before), but after realizing I don't quite have all of the materials I need, I decided to make a shadow box.  My daughter was excited when I asked her if she wanted me to hang it in her room, so I must have done a decent job, lol.  I'd love to get your thoughts!  I used the image The Wild Princess for this project.

It was pretty hard to photograph - this picture is without the glass.  Because of the heavy frame, the top portion looks a little dark, but it's actually rather bright.

The Copics I used are: skin - E000, E00, E04, E21 & R20; hair - E35, E37, YR23, Y21 & Y32; crown - Y26 & Y28; dress - R35, R37 & R39; leaves - G21, YG93 & YG97; flowers - R11, R20, R22, R24, Y17, Y32, G000, BG11, BG13 & BG32; snail - V93, V95, V97, W0, W3 & W5.  I added Wink of Stella (clear) to the crow and butterflies.

Here is a closer look at this beauty:

The shadow box is from Ikea.  I also used Bazzill cardstock, paper/sticker from Webster's Pages (Dream in Color), flowers from Wild Orchid, ribbon, Butterfly punches from Martha Stewart, and dies by Memory Box and LaLa Land Crafts.  I've been into quotes lately, and trying to use them on my cards, and added one to the bottom of this.  It's a little small, but I wanted the image to be the main focus.  I love what it reads...

Late night post for me:)  I'd like to share another card I was working on over the weekend (another 'just because' card:).  This image is from The Paper Nest, and she is a sweetie called 'Spring Bouquet'.  I have some brand new paper I couldn't wait to use, and she turned out to be the perfect image!

The Copics I used are: skin - E000, E00, E4, E11, E21 & R20; hair - E35, E37, YR23, Y21 & Y32; dress/bow - R01, R02 & R08; shoes - W0, W3 & W5

For the card I used Bazzill cardstock, paper/sticker from Webster'e Pages (Dream in Color), lace, ribbon, flowers/leaves from Wild Orchid, charm from Prima, and dies from LaLa Land crafts (fence & leaf) and Spellbinders.  Thanks for taking a look, and have a great morning/day/night (depending what part of the world you call home:)

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:
