Back to School

Good morning everyone (or evening, depending where you call home).  We are kicking off the new challenge over at Creative Knockouts and would love for you to join us! This wee we are sponsored by Stitchy Bear Stamps, and the prize is a $10 gift certificate to their store!  How awesome is that?!?

The challenge this week is to use a 'Recipe' to make your project.  The recipe is as follows:
3 Embellishments (may be 3 of the same kind, or 3 different)
2 Patterned Papers
1 Image
1 Sentiment

Please make sure your project has all of the items listed above to be eligible for the prize.  The image I am using this week is School 4 - Teen, which seemed appropriate, since our kiddos are back in school this week.  Here is my card using the above recipe:

The Copics I used are: hair - E08, E19, YR14 & YR18; shirt - YR31, Y17 & Y21; pants - B91, B95 & B97; shoes - C1, C3 & C5; bag - E31, E33, E35 & Wink of Stella brown glitter pen.

For the card I used Bazzill cardstock, Websters Pages paper & sentiment sticker(Hall Pass), 2 flowers, and a 'First day of school' button.  Here is a close up of the sentiment.  "What We Learn Becomes a Part of Who We Are".  I just love it.

I do hope you'll check out the new challenge, and share your project using our recipe!  You can find all of the other awesome DT projects on the Creative Knockouts blog (and head over to the DT blogs to give them some love, if you've got the time!).  Thanks for stopping by!

Hugs, Bonnie

The Wild Princess

Happy Thursday everyone!  Today I am sharing a project I made for the Ching Chou Kuik Facebook Group.  I decided to try something other than a card for this.  It originally started as an altered mixed-media canvas (which I have never made before), but after realizing I don't quite have all of the materials I need, I decided to make a shadow box.  My daughter was excited when I asked her if she wanted me to hang it in her room, so I must have done a decent job, lol.  I'd love to get your thoughts!  I used the image The Wild Princess for this project.

It was pretty hard to photograph - this picture is without the glass.  Because of the heavy frame, the top portion looks a little dark, but it's actually rather bright.

The Copics I used are: skin - E000, E00, E04, E21 & R20; hair - E35, E37, YR23, Y21 & Y32; crown - Y26 & Y28; dress - R35, R37 & R39; leaves - G21, YG93 & YG97; flowers - R11, R20, R22, R24, Y17, Y32, G000, BG11, BG13 & BG32; snail - V93, V95, V97, W0, W3 & W5.  I added Wink of Stella (clear) to the crow and butterflies.

Here is a closer look at this beauty:

The shadow box is from Ikea.  I also used Bazzill cardstock, paper/sticker from Webster's Pages (Dream in Color), flowers from Wild Orchid, ribbon, Butterfly punches from Martha Stewart, and dies by Memory Box and LaLa Land Crafts.  I've been into quotes lately, and trying to use them on my cards, and added one to the bottom of this.  It's a little small, but I wanted the image to be the main focus.  I love what it reads...

Thanks for stopping by!  I'd love some feedback, and please leave me a link to your blog if I'm not already a follower:)  Have a great day!

Spring Bouquet

Late night post for me:)  I'd like to share another card I was working on over the weekend (another 'just because' card:).  This image is from The Paper Nest, and she is a sweetie called 'Spring Bouquet'.  I have some brand new paper I couldn't wait to use, and she turned out to be the perfect image!

The Copics I used are: skin - E000, E00, E4, E11, E21 & R20; hair - E35, E37, YR23, Y21 & Y32; dress/bow - R01, R02 & R08; shoes - W0, W3 & W5

For the card I used Bazzill cardstock, paper/sticker from Webster'e Pages (Dream in Color), lace, ribbon, flowers/leaves from Wild Orchid, charm from Prima, and dies from LaLa Land crafts (fence & leaf) and Spellbinders.  Thanks for taking a look, and have a great morning/day/night (depending what part of the world you call home:)

Pretty Pixie

Hi everyone:)  My weekend is winding down, and I've got a few cards I'm finishing up.  I'd love to share the first!  It's been a while since I have worked on a Simply Betty stamp, so I was happy to pull some of them out to play with this week.  First up is a card I made using the sweet image Pretty Pixie.  I'd love to know what you think!

The Copics I used are: hair - E31, E33, E35 & E37; dress s- YG00, YG23, YG25 & YG17; wings - G000, BG11, BG13, BG32, YR000, YR00, YR02, R01, R02 & R14.

For the card I used Bazzill cardstock, paper/word stickers by Webster's Pages (Nest), flowers/leaves by Wild Orchid, and dies by Spellbinder & LaLa Land Crafts.  I loved that it said so much, and I gave this to my (soon-to-be 13 year old) daughter, and told her to always remember the words: 'Live with Intention', and 'Find yourself and be that'.  She's such an awesome kid.  I hope she likes it. Thanks for looking!
