Lantern Night

Hey there!  I hope your week is off to a good start!  I am posting my latest DT Inspiration card for the Ching Chou Kuik Facebook Group.  The image I am using is Lantern Night, and I have been wanting to color this beauty for a long time.  I was drawn to her a while ago, but was not sure how I wanted to color her, but this week I decided to dive right in.  I'm happy with the result!  What do you think?

The Copic colors I used are: hair - BV20, BV25, BV29, 100; dress - W0, W2, RV32, RV91 & R56; shawl - W0, W2 & W5; flowers - BG000, BG01, BG05 & B00; leaves - YG93, YG97 & G21; butterflies - E08, E19, E47, E49, YR14, YR18 & Y17; lantern - YR23, Y21, Y32 & G12.

For the card I used Bazzill cardstock, Prima paper (Garden Fable Collection), flowers/leaves from WIld Orchid, cheesecloth, and die by Spellbinders.  I love these chinese lantern dies, and they were just perfect for this card!  There is lots of inspiration to be found in the Ching Chou Kuik Facebook Group, and a brand new challenge has just started.  Please check it out, and we would love for you to join us!  Hope you all have a fantastic day:)

ABM - July Progressive Challenge

Greetings everyone in blogger land! I'm really excited about this post - it's time for the July Progressive Challenge over in the Art by MiRan Facebook Group!  Every month Mi Ran created such gorgeous images for this challenge, and this month is no exception.  In fact, I think she's outdone herself!  This one is such a beauty!

Have you played along with this challenge before?  If you have, you might remember that when  you participate in the challenge, the next month's image is free.  You read that right - it is free to you as long as you entered the prior month's challenge. If you are new to the challenge, you can buy the current image at a reduced rate, and as long as you enter the challenge, the next one will be free to you.  Super easy!  And such beautiful images too.  Check out the post in the Art by MiRan Facebook Group to see all of the details, and to enter your project!  Here is the card I made using this month's image 'Marie Mariposa':

The Copics I used are: hair - E42, E43, E47 & E49; dress - R81, R85, R89, R000, R32 & R43; flowers - B91, B95, Y28, Y32, G85 & G99.

I made this easel card using Bazzill cardstock, paper by Kaiser Crafts (Secret Garden), flowers from Wild Orchid, ribbon, charm (Websters Pages), and LaLa Land Crafts die.  I used stickles on her wings for added sparkle.  Here is a closer look at the image:

I've been having fun with easel cards too - I'm really trying to get out of the habit of only making 6x6 cards. I really love this fluffy ribbon and charm on the bottom:

I do hope you will join us over in the Art by MiRan Facebook Group - there are always fun challenges going on, and everyone is super sweet and welcoming.  You can also check out the other gorgeous images from Mi Ran in her Etsy shop.  Thanks for stopping by, and have an awesome day!

Fancy Occasion

Happy Thursday everyone!  Well, yesterday I shared a card my daughter made for the Karleigh Sue Challenge Blog, and today I am here to share a card I made for the Karleigh Sue Inspiration Blog.  I'm using this gorgeous image Fancy Occasion, and I couldn't wait to color that dress!  I was sooo intimidated by the folds (and truth be told, this is my 4th coloring of her - I just wasn't pleased with the others).  But I think I finally got it right!  What do you think?

The Copic colors I used are: hair - E33, E51, E53 & E57; dress - V93, V95 & V99.

For the card I used Bazzill cardstock, My Mind's Eye paper, cheesecloth (first time trying it, and I must say, I quite like to texture), lace, ribbon, flowers by Wild Orchid & Prima, and Joy! Crafts die.  I really hope I captured the elegance of the image with my card.  If you love this image, you can find her and other lovelies in the  Karleigh Sue Etsy Shop.  There are currently some bundles on elves to help with your Christmas in July projects!  Thanks for stopping by.  I love and appreciate my followers. Have an awesome day!

Samantha - Guest DT for Karleigh Sue!

Hi everyone!  I am SUPER excited to write this post.  My daughter Samantha has been asked by Karleigh Sue to be a Guest DT for their brand new Challenge on the Karleigh Sue Challenge Blog!  Hoe exciting for her, and I couldn't be prouder:)  She made a card for the Cutie Challenge which starts today, and has a 'Christmas Elf' theme.  For her card she used this cute elf Jingles.

Samantha used the following Copic colors for her project: hair - YR23, Y21 & Y32, clothes - G46, G21, R27 & R24; belt - Y26 & 100.

FOr the card she used Bazzill cardstock, and paper & stickers from Bo Bunny (Mistletoe).  She added 2 Christmas charms to her card as well.  How's that for a card made 100% by a 12 year old?  Pretty amazing, right?  I know Samantha would be thrilled to know what you think.  Head on over to the Karleigh Sue Challenge Blog to check out more details on the challenge, and to see the other wonderful DT projects.  There is also an amazing deal on digis in the Karleigh Sue Etsy Shop, including a Christmas Elf Bundle which includes Jingles:)

Thanks for checking it out, and have a great day!
